The Heartland National Secure Rate 5 is a single premium, fixed annuity with a five-year rate guarantee. It allows for accumulated interest withdrawals after 30 days and includes a surrender-free death benefit. The contract also includes a Market Value Adjustment.
Upon maturity, owners have a 30-day window to withdraw, transfer, or renew their full account value. Alternatively, owners can opt for a one-year surrender-penalty-free account at the minimum guaranteed interest rate. However, if no action is taken, the contract will renew for a new 5-year guaranteed fixed annuity term with a new surrender schedule.
This account accepts both qualified and non-qualified deposits. If desired, two unique withdrawal riders (described below) can be added at the onset of the contract. They would each reduce the yearly interest rate accordingly.
