The GILICO Guaranty Rate Lock 5 is a single premium, fixed annuity with a five-year rate lock. After five years, owners have a 30-day window to withdraw, transfer, reinvest, or annuitize their entire account balance. If no action is taken, a new 4-year term begins.
Three rate bands are available. The highest rates are for deposits over $100K, but this is subject to change. Lower crediting rates apply to amounts between $10K and $99.9K. Qualified and non-qualified funds are accepted. Joint ownership is allowed on the policy. There are no surrender charges at the death of the owner/annuitant.
