The Atlantic Coast Life Safe Harbor 5 is a single premium, simple interest annuity with a five-year rate guarantee. After five years, owners have a 30-day window to withdraw, transfer, or renew their full policy value. If no action is taken, a new term will begin.
There are no free withdrawal riders offered. A Death Benefit Feature can be added which reduces the yearly rate by 0.25%. It allows for a surrender-free annuity value upon passing. Ownership between the ages of 86-90 is allowed, but the death benefit feature must be added.
Offered with a higher initial rate and a 1% premium bonus, this contract is designed primarily for growth. If income or regular withdrawals are desired, their Safe Haven 5 annuity can be a better choice. The rate below reflects the compounding equivalent level rate for easier comparisons.
Rates are slightly lower in Florida where the Death Benefit rider must be included in all contracts.
