Best Multi-Year Equity Indexed Annuity Returns
Equity-indexed (also known as fixed indexed) annuities offer the potential for higher returns while also providing protection and insurance on the accumulated principal.
During favorable market cycles in prior year, indexed annuity accounts have credited double digit interest rates without present or future exposure to downside market risk.
The interest rate used to calculate yearly returns will vary depending on the performance of the chosen index crediting method, but current first year premium bonuses add immediate value to the initial deposit.
Bonuses vary depending on the term of the annuity, but some insurance companies offer 10% first year premium bonuses on accounts with longer terms. In some cases, the insurance company will offer a bonus on all deposits made in the first three or five years as oppose to year one only.
First year guaranteed returns will be 10% or better when the initial premium, increased by the bonus amount, is invested in the fixed interest sub-account. During favorable market cycles, deposits have increased substantially, often approaching 15-20% or better. Investors can rest assured during bear markets knowing their principal and accumulated interest from years past remains protected from market losses.
First Year Interest Example with Premium Bonus
$100,000 initial premium deposit plus 10%* bonus = $110,000
$110,000 credited 3.50%* (declared interest in the fixed sub-account) equals $113,850.00
The first year yield would be 13.85% in this example.
The following year the accumulated annuity principal can be invested in one of the available indexed sub-account if market conditions have improved. While it is impossible to predict future interest rates in an index based product, we can provide historical annuity quotes for comparison purposes.
